The Black Eyed Peas were a favourite at the Kickoff Concert

Masih dalam semangat Piala Dunia 2010 Afrika, kita sebentar lagi akan melihat keragaman seni yang ada di kota Piala Dunia 2010 tersebut(afrika maksudnya...), Oke... we go on!!!

Jasa SEO Murah - Teknik seo: The World Cup Kickoff Concert gave the world a typical Sowetan welcome - warm, friendly and a fantastic party.
IT was all happening at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on the eve of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, where thousands of football mad, music-loving party people jolled at the official Kickoff Concert.

Some 30 000 people waving flags packed the stadium, braving the icy Joburg winter night and making sure that the occasion was typically Sowetan - warm and friendly. It was an event to remember, with African and international musicians providing the entertainment, and officials and footballers providing the inspiration. South African icon Hugh Masekela performed his hit Grazin' in the Grass to loud cheers from the audience. He was then joined on stage by South African singer Lira who performed the late Miriam Makeba's famous Pata Pata.
And then it was time for South African President Jacob Zuma and FIFA president Sepp Blatter to welcome the world to Joburg. They spoke about how football was not just a game, but was about connecting people.
"FIFA is very proud to be in South Africa, and I am very proud to be tonight in Soweto," said Blatter.
American supergroup Black Eyed Peas took to the stage, with will.i.am shouting, "South Africa, are you ready?" - and the party got under way. Everyone knew it was going to be good night.
They performed favourites such as Where Is the Love, Pump It, Meet Me Halfway, Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling, with the crowd singing right back at them. Also delighting the audience was John Legend, who performed with Angelique Kidjo.

Africa's talent was clear to see, with a vast array of performers on the bill: Kidjo from Benin; guitarist Vieux Farka Toure, duo Amadou and Mariam, and Tinariwen, all from Mali; locals Vusi Mahlasela, who was a trending topic on Twitter around the world for his performance; the Soweto Gospel Choir, The Parlotones and BLK JKS; and Somali-Canadian rapper K'Naan.

Between the performances the audience were shown videos of past football greats and past World Cup champions. Much was also made of the official 2010 FIFA charity, 20 Centres for 2010. Legends
Appearances by football heroes like former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas Radebe and former Brazilian midfielder Sócrates, added to the occasion. Manchester City mid-fielder, Patrick Vieira spoke of his excitement at seeing the World Cup in South Africa. The footballer, who was born in Dakar, Senegal, was in the French squad that won the World Cup in 1998.
Alicia Keys was a favourite, performing No One before joining local group BLK JKS to sing the late Brenda Fassie's hit Too Late for Mama.
Dressed in Bafana Bafana team colours, an excited Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu welcomed all the visitors to South Africa. He praised former president Nelson Mandela for his invaluable contribution to nation-building, and for throwing his support behind the World Cup in Africa.
Then, to the delight of the crowd, Colombian singer Shakira shook her hips and, with local Afropop group Freshlyground, performed the official World Cup song Waka Waka. It was, quite simply, the best party of the year in Soweto, the party capital of the world.
And a fine way to start the next month of top-flight football.
